Legalsutra - Law Students' Knowledge Base Beta Launch

Dear Friends,

I am very happy to announce the beta launch of Legalsutra, the Law Students' Knowledge Base, which will have law school projects, notes and more! As of now, it has about 170+ unpublished working papers on 36 different subjects. Click here to browse content. We have several legal research resources such as useful links to legal information in India, UK, USA and the rest of the world, along with search engines to search through the listed links. You can also access Law Khoj's legal research engine.

We have a decent number of members and visitors as well.

We are constantly striving to improve its user interface and new features are being added regularly.

Launching Legalsutra.com: Alpha Version

Lawkhoj.com: Free Indian Legal Search engine - New Features

I hope you all got to use lawkhoj.com, especially the new interface which is easier to use. The new interface takes a little more time to load, but has unprecedented benefits, as now one can view the search results without refreshing the page (hence takes lesser time) and one can get a quick overview of relevant law journals, legal articles, judgments, legislation, reports etc on a particular topic. Those who prefer to use the old version of Law Khoj's search engine for Indian legal research can do so by clicking on a link just below the Law Khoj search box.

The whole idea of Law Khoj was to make Indian legal research more convenient. We continue to increase the number of relevant websites which are given priority in Law Khoj and would request our users to suggest more Indian and foreign open access journals, legal blogs and other relevant websites.

Law Khoj's main search engine for Indian legal research has now been made open to the entire internet instead of searching only through a handful of websites, as we realized that legal knowledge in India can be found in unusual places. However, in order to ensure that users of Law Khoj are not troubled with results from popular sites (social networking, classified ads, entertainment sites etc), we have blocked their results on Law Khoj.

We are trying to do our best to make legal research in India as quick good as possible and your constant feedback will help us in doing so. In pursuance of this, we have formed a group on facebook called : "Lawkhoj.com- The Legal Google" and have also started tweeter account for Lawkhoj and we urge you to join them and keep telling us how we can serve you and other law researchers better.

Launch of LAWKHOJ.COM (with the Best Indian Legal Search Engines)

Dear Friends

I am very happy to announce the launch of my website LAWKHOJ.COM, in collaboration with my friend Rahul Sarin, which will provide customized search engines for Indian and foreign legal research. So, now you can do all your Indian legal research at Law Khoj Indian Legal Search Engine. You can also use other search engines like the Openly Accessible Journals Law Khoj (for open/free access journals), U.K. Law Khoj (for judgments and laws from the United Kingdom), U.S. Law Khoj (US legal resources) and World Law Khoj. Cornell University's legal search engine (US focus) will also be available.

The biggest benefit of shifting to Law Khoj is that the website loads very quickly (as compared to this blog or even indiankanoon.org) and you'll enjoy a simple and clutter free interface. We have also added a number of new websites/blogs in the search index and have provided facility of labelling/categorisation. Thus, all websites have been categorised and labelled according to the kind of content they make available. Therefore, you can choose to search only sites of Central Government ministries, or look through blogs/judgments/legislation only or even search only through freely available or paid content.

You can find out more about the lawkhoj.com in the "About" page. There is also a page about "How Law Khoj Works" and "How To Make Your Searches More Relevant" which gives ways of getting the most relevant results.

Our effort would be to expand the list of indexed websites overtime and it'll also be our endeavor to make the Indian legal research as convenient as possible. Therefore, its our humble request that you should kindly try out the different search engines for Indian and foreign legal research.
